Brief summary
For this project it was required to take various photographs that would be treated and used within a printed sequence. The sequence comprised five photographs in total, three being documentary and two being fashion photography. The sequence of photographs should not have a literal/ obvious story but should rather aim to invoke engagement with abstract elements and spark conversations about alternative narratives.
Deliverables
1) 3 documentary photos in greyscale
2) fashion photography images in greyscale
3) final series of 5 photos printed on canvas
Rationale
This particular curation of documentary and fashion photography aims to not tell a literal narrative, but rather to invoke engagement with abstract elements and spark conversations about alternative narratives. Through the exploration of various different environments, subject matter and individuals, I captured various moments that were both curated and at random in order to curate a sequence of five images. This aim of the sequence is to draw the viewer deeper into each image in order to get the viewer to draw their own parallel on the meaning and relationship between images placed next to each other that otherwise seem to have no relation to one another. After reflection, a personal narrative can be drawn on the curation of images as a whole by whoever views it, rather than imposing a set narrative.
